Meditation/Relaxation Classes in Drayton, near Abingdon Oxfordshire
Learn to Meditate – Reduce Stress, promote relaxation and boost feelings of peace and joy.
Is meditation something you have thought about but just aren’t sure how to start? If so why not give it a try and join one of my relaxation and meditation classes in Drayton just minutes away from Milton Park between Abingdon and Didcot Oxfordshire.
The groups are small (a maximum of 6), the classes run for 4 weeks and cost £60 for the 4 weeks.
Each week you will be introduced to some gentle energy balancing exercises and learn simple meditation techniques that you can use at home to start up your meditation practice. Each class also includes a guided visualisation section, where you will be guided through a series of images designed to calm the mind, relax the body and rejuvenate your cells.
The word ‘meditation’ often can be a bit intimidating to some people but meditation or relaxation, like most things, is something we can learn to do. It’s something that gets easier with practice. Using gentle relaxation techniques and visualisations we can train our minds and bodies to relax with ease. This can help with sleep problems, stress, anxiety and general relaxation.
The body’s natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualisation, progressive muscle relaxation and meditation can help you activate this relaxation response. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels and a boost in your feelings of peace and joy.
Visualisation, or guided imagery, is a variation on traditional meditation that can help relieve stress and build confidence in your ability to concentrate and focus. When used as a relaxation technique, guided imagery involves imagining a scene in which you feel peaceful, free to let go of all tension and anxiety.

Mindfulness is a mind-body approach to well-being . Combining meditation, breathing techniques and paying attention to the present moment, mindfulness has been shown to help people change the way they think, feel and therefore act in everyday life. There are numerous studies that show that through mindfulness meditation people have reduced stress, anxiety and depression and gained a greater level of clarity, deeper sleep and even a greater level of physical fitness.
Although originally mindfulness meditation comes from Buddhist teachings it does not conflict with any religious, cultural or scientific beliefs.
I offer two different approaches to Mindfulness:
