 Where are you based?  I practice Energy Healing, Hypnotherapy and EFT in both Oxford and London

What is your policy on confidentiality?

I work within the ethical standards of my professional organisations, such as the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, BSCH and GHR.

Whatever you tell me in our sessions is confidential. The only circumstances in which I would disclose anything you told me would be if I were legally obliged to do so, or if there were overwhelming concerns for your immediate safety, or that of another person. In practice, this only happens if there are very serious concerns, for example, that someone is imminently suicidal, or there are child protection issues - as would be the same for your GP. I receive ongoing supervision and support, and though I may discuss clinical issues in supervision, I do not personally identify you.

Do you guarantee therapy?

I don’t guarantee my therapy or treatment interventions (and neither does your doctor, physiotherapist, or counsellor), as people’s responses, subjective perceptions of their achievements, and the outcomes they want vary and can change during the course of therapy. I know that a few hypnotherapists do guarantee ‘stop smoking’ treatments, often at considerable expense and with associated terms and conditions, however this doesn’t sit well ethically for me, as in the end, I believe it’s always personal choice. I can only say that people tell me they have achieved some really great results as a result of working with me.

Do you do concessions?

I keep my costs as low as possible anyway to make the therapies accessible to more people, but I will consider your case individually. I keep my fees in line with or slightly below the local going rate for hypnotherapists, which is excellent value due to the range of interventions I offer. I don’t wish to turn anyone in real need away on grounds of cost, therefore some consession appointments are available in Oxford on Monday afternoons. For these sessions, fees can be arranged based on your personal circumstances.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 48 hours notice of cancellation. If this is not possible, I reserve the right to make the following charges, to allow for my time and preparation, and to keep costs down for all clients, who could otherwise have accessed the appointment slot:

•Less than 48 hours notice - half the session rate.

•Less than 24 hours notice given / Client doesn't attend - full session rate.

If clients arrive early or late, unfortunately I am not able to extend the time of their session.

Do I need to let my GP know I am seeing you?

If you have a current medical problem, then I ask you to take responsibility for letting your GP know you are seeing me. As a professional therapist, I believe it is in your best interests for me to work collaboratively with my colleagues in other professions, as this encourages more intregative care for you. However, this doesn’t mean you or I have to disclose any details that you are not comfortable sharing.

If there is any concern about whether Hypnotherapy / EFT / Healing would be appropriate, I would be happy to liaise with your GP, in fact in some circumstances I would not commence hypnotherapy treatment without first contacting your GP. For example I wouldn't want to help you reduce pain in a specific area without you first having established the cause. Even in a relaxed trance state, you may experience heightened emotion at times, so it is important I am aware of any physical or emotional factors which may cause you even temporary stress, or if you have recently had serious health problems. I will always discuss concerns with you first before contacting your GP unless it is an emergency. Our sessions remain confidential, unless you give permission for me to disclose information.
